VOLUNTEERS needed

We are looking for Volunteers to help us teach technology to seniors, and you do not need to be an IT expert to make a difference.

What the Role Involves:

  • Basic Device Support: Assisting seniors with smartphones (Apple/Android), tablets, iPads, and computers.

  • Everyday Skills: Teaching how to send emails, make video calls to family, browse the web safely, and manage online banking or photos.

  • Time Commitment: Most programs ask for just 1 to 4 hours per week in a relaxed, patient, and social environment. Our main focus is Monday at Club Lambton were we have a general class in the morning followed by a 1 on 1 assistance class in the afternoon. We also have the general class at Wallsend library on Tuesday morning and at Adamstown library on Wednesday afternoon.

You may be a current active member who is now confident to help others.
You may have a friend who has considered doing something like this.
Please let them know and try us out. It is very rewarding to help seniors develop their understanding of technology. Tutors say that they also learn more about technology while teaching others.
