November 2025 News

As we draw near to the end of another busy year, it’s a fitting time to pause and reflect on the people and events that have shaped ComputerPals in recent months.

First and foremost, we sadly acknowledge the recent passing of our former President, Sandra Keen, whose warmth, humour and dedication has left a lasting mark on our club. Her legacy of kindness and service will long be remembered.

This past month we also celebrated a very successful Get Online Week with a Light Luncheon, which saw an impressive 95 attendees join us. A heartfelt thank you to our guest speakers, Olivier and Will from the Newcastle Permanent, for their informative and engaging presentation on scams, security awareness, and internet banking topics that are increasingly vital for us all.

A quick reminder: if you need to cancel a personal assistance lesson, please contact Judy on 0478 219 220 as soon as possible. This helps us make sure that others do not miss out on valuable support opportunities.

Before I close, I’d like to encourage everyone to continue exploring the BeConnected website. It’s a wonderful resource for revisiting lessons, following up personal interests, or even preparing questions for future ComputerPals sessions.

Finally, my sincere thanks to all our dedicated volunteer team for their ongoing hard work and commitment. Your generosity and enthusiasm keep our community thriving.

Warm regards,

Jackie Lampe
Acting President
