PRESIDENT’S REPORT – March 2025

The last month has been quite busy with the Seniors Festival activities; ours on Monday 3/3, Newcastle Council expo at McDonald Jones Stadium on Tuesday 4/3 and on Wednesday 12/3 an information table at Hamilton Shine Central (111 Beaumont St).

It was wonderful to see 77 people in attendance at our day on 3/3. There are photos & video showing the masses participating in the chair exercises that was followed with game apps to stimulate the mind.

Thank you to the team organising the morning tea – it was well done!

We had a special Artificial Intelligence talk 2 Mondays ago.

Our UK guest – Anthony Allen – gave an interesting talk on how he uses AI in his daily life (personal and for work). Some of us took advantage of his knowledge to download chatGPT and have a short lesson on how to most effectively ask it to create an image or an article.

The PrezXPrez group of ComputerPals in Sydney have been looking at AI. They demonstrated a podcast generated by a new AI app called Gemini Audio. The podcast was of a male and female voice having a dialogue. They were blown away by it. We listened to it at our committee meeting and were also very impressed.
