Barefoot Bowling Outing

  • Post category:social
Our next outing will be to our ‘headquarters’, Club Lambton where we will take to the greens for some barefoot bowling.

Now before you throw up your hands in despair (‘I’ve never bowled’), fear not – I suspect that of those who attend, many, if not most, may have never set foot on a bowling green (including myself). However, we will soldier on, making up our own rules (within reason) and scoring. I have been advised that if the resident greenkeeper is present that day or perhaps one of the Club’s locals are there, we should be able to score a few starter lessons. The call goes out to any current members who are bowlers, to come along and give a few pointers. Details for the day are as follows;

When:    Friday 8th March
Where:   Club Lambton, 51 Karoola Rd, Lambton
Time:      10.00am sharp
Apparel: Suitable clothing, flat soft shoes (sneakers etc.) or bare feet
Cost:       Bowling – free (bowls provided), coffee/lunch etc.(if required) – own expense

The Club will be supplying the bowls, and they do ask that bowls are packed away when finished and brought back to the bar. Don’t forget a broad-brimmed hat, sunscreen and maybe a bottle of water. Morning tea and/or lunch is your decision and expense, with a lunch menu available.

Please click here to download the attendance form, complete the details and submit. As always, we do need this information to keep track of everyone attending, while the Club needs numbers to arrange bowls and those possibly attending morning tea/lunch.

This should be a fun day, and we trust the weather is kind. A morning session has been arranged for hopefully the cooler part of the day. Should it be raining, we will just avail ourselves of the Club’s facilities and solve the world’s problems. See you there.
